From their point of view, men were responsible for the apocalypse (and everything else, for that matter). Only a new matriarchal order will be able to rebuild society free from the violence of male control.

The Storm Ravens are a gang encountered in BattleTanx and BattleTanx: Global Assault. This ruthless group of women survivors patrol the western United States and have sworn loyalty to Cassandra. In return, she has promised to teach them the ways of the Edge.

When the X2 virus broke out, billions of women were affected and succumbed to it. For every 50,000 men, there was 1 fertile woman left alive. However, the statistics didn't account for the small percentage women who were those who had contracted X2 and survived. Despite surviving the virus, side effect was these fortunate few no longer being able to bare children. If the X2 virus didn't kill it's host, it was sure to render them infertile. Still, as the virus roared on through the global population, those women who weren't dead and shoveled into mass graves were seized by the governments of their respective nations and shuttled off to quarantine zones. The civilian men fought to get their loved ones back and were met with lethal force. Men all over the world we're gunned downed by government soldiers. However, many of the women who were left alive had rebelled as well. The origins of the Storm Ravens traces back to the women in said quarantine zones as well as those who escaped or were in hiding.

In the quarantine zones, the women were subjected to accomodations on par with an internment camp due to the supply shortages brought on by the global catastrophe. They were subject to constant experiments in finding a vaccine for the virus. It was then discovered that the percentage of women in custody who survived the X2 became infertile. A small group of women formed a gang which would be the catalyst for the Storm Ravens in response to the treatment.

After the bombs fell, those surviving women banded together along with those they found wondering the wastelands. From all the abuse they suffered throughout this cataclysmic event, they blamed all men for the X2 virus and the eventual end of the world. In there rage, the too procured tanks and became what they are now known as, Storm Ravens.

In the beginning, they stayed hidden, launching surprise attacks on other gangs who knew nothing of this mysterious. It was a myth, a gang of women in tanks. Soon, the word got out that there was a gang of women patrolling the western United States and those gangs descended upon all of the west to capture this gang and force them to be their Queen lords. However, they were met with tons of steel and artillery shells. The Storm Ravens had made a name as a ruthless gang.

They observed Griffin Spade's crusade from a distance during the events of the first game. By the second, they were approached by Cassandra who, impressed by this gang, were promised ti be taught the power of Edge in exchange for their loyalty. The Storm Ravens didn't need much convincing since Cassandra appealed to their hatred towards men for causing Armageddon.
